My Top Reads of 2025

I was super busy getting married this year so I didn’t read quite as much, but I still have a very clear top three (although one is a series). For some reason they all have dragons in. but I promise I read some books without dragons too!

‘Fourth Wing’ by Rebecca Yarros

I was a little late to the party on this one but, after finally succumbing to the peer pressure, I wasn’t disappointed! This series has everything a romantasy lover needs: enemies to lovers, morally grey love interest, strong female main character, magic just flying out of the pages.

The dragons in this book are characters in their own right, fierce and loyal and very opinionated. Their links to their riders are the most important things to them.

‘Never Ever After’ by Sue Lynn Tann

The latest by Sue Lynn Tann, this book gives us more of her trademark Japanese-inspired magic, characters and settings. The descriptions in this book are beautiful – and so is the cover if you can get your hands on a hardback!

The dragons in this book are a mystical force that can be used for good or evil.

‘A Forgery of Fate’ by Elizabeth Lim

Another beautiful Japanese-inspired fantasy, this book has a really strong female lead and a stunningly unique setting.

The dragons in this book are ordinary people who just happen to also be dragons. They have their own culture and their own agendas.
